Megan Kesler is a mosaic artist from Chicago specializing in broken mirrors and broken glass.
“I’m inspired by broken things and the art of deconstruction. ShatteredWorks is about hyper-breakage and celebrating the beauty in the broken. As a self-taught artist and natural reverse-engineer, I approach any piece of art, concept or life from a place of not knowing. I see a cracked mirror or an abandoned vase and think to myself, “I could break this.” Then, with the swing of a hammer I shatter what was into fragments, and piece together something new. As a metaphor, I like to expose these raw edges and create a sense of peace with our fractured reflections through a more colorful and optimistic prism.”
Megan has shown her work in Chicago and Brooklyn, NY and is excited to join the community here in St. Petersburg, FL.
